The family Xanthorrhoeaceae (Xanthorrhoeaceae or Xanthorrhoeaceae) is a family of monocotyledonous plants. They are shrubs, arborescent plants or almost acaula-like, perennial, evergreen plants with underground rhizomatous or tuberous organs.
In phylogenetic classification APG II (2003) this family may optionally include plants previously assigned to the families Hemerocallidaceae (e.g. Hemerocallis) and Asphodelaceae (e.g. Phormium).
