C. heracleifolia is a deciduous sub-shrub to 75cm, scrambling but not climbing, with herbaceous, slightly downy stems. Leaflets are in 3s, the terminal one large, ovate, to 12cm long. Flowers are tubular, the petals recurved at the tips when mature, borne in short, axillary clusters in mid-summer, and usually blue.

2020 – New growth on old wood mid February. Staked at the beginning of May. Strong development. First flowers at the end of June. Beautiful flowering in August-September.

2019 – New shoots on old wood mid February. Nice new shoots early April. May 12 treated with OLIGOSOL B. Strong development in May. First flowers at the end of June. Full flowering mid July. Huge development and flowering in late August-early September. Faded on 15 September.

2018- Specimen replanted in O-14 not emerged from the ground mid April. The potted specimen was well grown and therefore planted at the end of April in its place. Good development in June. In bud at the end of July. Beautiful flowering in August-September.

2017- New shoots on the old wood in mid-February. Relocated in place of the dead lavatera in O07. Does not seem to have suffered from the move. Staked out. First flowers on 15 June. Several new shoots around the main stem in July. To be relocated in autumn.

2016 – Grows in mid-March. Beautiful growth at the end of May. End of June small shoots from the base and start of flower buds on main stem. First flower at the very top of the main stem on July 19th. Blooms well all summer long. Relocated in October at the foot of the left post of the new trellis. Not very good soil!

2015 – In pots. End of June 2015: Has grown well in its pot. Flowering not so good. Planted near the Amelanchier at the beginning of September. Beautiful flowering!
