Pour ce type d&#8217;arbuste \u00e0 floraison de fin d&#8217;hiver-d\u00e9but de printemps, on pr\u00e9conise une taille relativement s\u00e9v\u00e8re apr\u00e8s la floraison. Mais la p\u00e9riode de floraison de cette spir\u00e9e est tr\u00e8s longue, puisqu&#8217;elle commence parfois avant No\u00ebl et se prolonge jusqu&#8217;en mars. En outre, les nouvelles feuilles apparaissent avant que les fleurs ne soient enti\u00e8rement fan\u00e9es. Il faut donc prendre la d\u00e9cision de tailler le sp\u00e9cimen maintenant, sinon il risque de &#8220;bouder&#8221; et de refuser de re-verdir.
