The end of August is not the best time of the year for visiting gardens, especially with the heat wave that we have known in France this month. Which may explain why the three of us were the only visitors at the end of that afternoon. However, the grassy paths were very green and pleasant to walk on, the many trees provided a welcome shade, and the result was a very nice visit.
