Latest developments in the saga of the ‘Barnsley’ lavatera. In my post of July 2022 I was cautiously optimistic that there might once again be a lavatera true to the ‘Barnsley’ variety (or rather chimera) in the garden. As it happens, I have. Last April I planted the 2 specimens from carefully picked cuttings on stems bearing both varieties of flowers.
Once these cuttings had been planted in the ground, they grew generously and I now have both types of flowers, just as I’d hoped.
